In Greene County district court Nicholas Weber, 21, of Fort Dodge was sentenced Feb. 7 to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. The prison term is consecutive to prison terms in five other cases. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for three years. He must reside at a residential correctional facility until maximum benefits are attained. He was fined $1,025 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. A judgment was entered for $1,000 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $136.50 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Weber was also sentenced in a case in which he was charged with possession of methamphetamine. The prison sentence was also consecutive to the above case, but it was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years, concurrent to the probation in the above case. He was fined $1,205 with a $153.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $300 court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 43, of Grand Junction, theft- fourth degree; and in a separate case, dominion/control of firearm/offensive weapon as felon and possession of methamphetamine; and in a separate case, sex abuse- third degree.
